What is Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC)?  

Central Bank Digital Currencies are virtual money backed and issued by a central bank. Today in the U.S., Federal Reserve notes (i.e., physical currency) are the only type of central bank money available to the general public. 

The Federal Reserve states that it has made no decisions on whether to pursue or implement a central bank digital currency, or CBDC.   However, CBDCs research, development, piloted and launching are in full force!  

In the U.S., Individual Federal Reserve Banks such as the Federal Reserve of New York and Boston are pursuing prototypes for a US CBDC, for both wholesale and retail applications.  In other words, they are currently sampling or testing the product, concept and/or process.  See more, click on the links below.

Beware of Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC), it will pave the way to government controlling our economic freedoms.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis proposed legislation to try to prevent the federal government from deploying a central bank digital currency (CBDC), aka “Big Brother’s digital dollar,” in his state. Gov. DeSantis claims CBDCs can enable surveillance by the federal government, threatening individual privacy and economic freedom. 

His draft would prohibit acceptance of an American CBDC under Florida’s Uniform Commercial Code and enact other limits against foreign countries’ CBDCs. Moreover, he called upon “likeminded states to join Florida in adopting similar prohibitions ... to fight back against this [CBDC] concept nationwide.”

It’s not good for your freedom.  A programmable digital currency could easily be controlled and tracked by a government agency or central bank. Everything you buy using a digital dollar could be recorded, no matter where you go in the country.
