Ever since we took over Friar Tuck’s in 2019, we have wanted to do an all-out Music Festival. After Covid hit and our community was hurting a group of us decided it was time to celebrate a much-needed uniting! Therefore, I am sponsoring our Friar Tuck’s Musicians for the event. It’s going to be amazing!

Admission: $10 per carload and $5 for a single. VETERANS are free.
our community life while honoring our veterans and celebrating the history of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. See a giant carved wooden Liberty Bell and a huge replica of the Preamble to the Constitution of the United States. Sign your name with a quill and ink. The day will also feature:
Veterans:A gun volley (Honor Guard), Taps, pledge, national anthem
Kids:Extreme Wet Zone (kids only water toy area
THRIVE:Kids only zone with multiple competitive games
Costumes: Dress up in 1776 colonial style for a costume parade with prizes
Food: A variety of food trucks; snow cones; free cotton candy and popcorn

Background information regarding this event: Unity in OUR Community is a continuation and expansion of the first “Thrive” event that was held on June 26, 2021 to bring together teenagers in the community after the long lockdown due to the Covid pandemic. It also commemorated the loss of Sammy Schmidt, a 16-year old who took his life in the fall of 2020. The original Thrive event served two purposes: 1) to provide a much-needed fun hang out for children and families of all ages, and 2) to garner community support for growth and wellness. In support of the Interfaith Food Ministry and the Nevada County Food Bank all attendees are asked to bring some non-perishable food items upon admission.
